After years of searching, Anselmo “Steve” and Cecilia Simi have selected the site for Anselmo Vigne on the eastern foothills of Napa Valley because of the existing hillside vineyard's potential to make a world class Cabernet Sauvignon. In the hills above the Silverado Trail in a rocky triangle framed by Soda Canyon, Oak Knoll District and Stag’s Leap District the Anselmo Vigne estate vineyard draws character from each in this unique location. Planted in 1988, the 5.5 acre hillside vineyard is well drained with rocky-clay-loam soils. In the hands of winemaker, Craig MacLean, the naturally structured, concentrated and ripe mountain fruit is restrained and refined. |
