Livia Fontana owns 7 hectares of estate vineyards in Castiglione Falletto, at the center of the Barolo DOCG.  In Castiglione Falletto the celebrated Villero single vineyard is found, and that is where Livia Fontana owns and cultivates a couple hectares of old-vine Nebbiolo da Barolo.  The presence of loam and brown clay makes Villero one of the most masculine, broad and deep of all Barolo.  Consultant winemaker Prof. Donato Lanati supervises all stages of vinification at Livia Fontana.  The winery can look back to the experience of six generations and 180 years of traditional wine production performed by simple but active people with great passion.  Today, Livia, her father Ettore, and brother Renzo, manage the entire wine production from working in the vineyard through to bottling and labelling.  The annual production is about 5.000 cases.
