After more than 40 years of high-profile work in the food and wine industry, Peter K. Huwiler has created a brand of wines he can truly call his own. Napa Station, a subsidiary of the newly formed Huwiler Vineyards, L.L.C., is owned and operated by Huwiler and his son Peter II. The team’s mission is to produce food-friendly wines from Napa Valley fruit grown in sustainably-farmed vineyards from St. Helena to Los Carneros. Best known for his success at the helm of St. Helena icon Merryvale Vineyards, Huwiler is a native of Switzerland who came to the U.S. on a University of Washington scholarship in 1970 - and never looked back. Managing a winery with a spur track alongside the cellar and a train rumbling by twice daily, Huwiler says he was reminded of traveling by European rail as a boy as well as the early days in America’s wine legacy when Napa Valley grapes and wine were transported across country by rail. Winemaker Kent Jarman brings his personal touch and creativity to the vineyard and cellar. Kent honed his skills while on the winemaking staff at Duckhorn, Spring Mountain and J Wine Co. He continues to consult for a handful of boutique wineries specializing in Napa Valley and Sonoma.
