French by birth and training (the protégé of Denis Dubordieu of Bordeaux fame), Olivier Ruhard has established himself as one of Argentina's leading authorities on white wines. Ruhard originally arrived to Argentina to help the Lurton brothers with what was then their new Argentine project. After years of consulting with the Lurton family and numerous other producers, Ruhard has been the mind behind many of the greatest white wines produced in the country. Olivier has finally decided to hang up his own shingle, creating a small winery focused on his three favorite grapes: Pinot Gris, Merlot, and Syrah. Grapes for Odyssea Pinot Grigio come from the high location of Vista Flores in Mendoza's Uco Valley. The weather conditions there (cool nights and warm days) are ideal for Pinot Gris.
