False Bay, on the southern tip of South Africa, was a regular watering place for English and Dutch ships on their way to and from the Indies in the 17th century. Letters were often left there for the following fleet, under what became known as “Post-Office stones”, which was the inspiration for the name of this range. The grapes come from trellised and irrigated vineyards close to Riebeek. Production levels vary between 10 and 12 tons to the hectare. Soils consist mainly of deep red gravels.
