Fattoria Querciarossa (Querciarossa Farm) is located between Magliano in Toscana and the sea of Talamone. An enchanted place, inhabited since the very beginning of our history. Remains from the Bronze Age till the Rinaldone Age have been found here: the so called Tomba dell’Arciere (Archer Tomb) is next to the cellars of the farm. Magliano in Tuscany is the undisputed home of Morellino di Scansano DOCG, partly due to a development that has in recent years, with the creation of new vineyards and wineries, some of them of considerable size and production capacity. Nobody knows exactly where the name Morellino came from. Most wine lovers think it’s derived from the word ’Morello’ brown, the color of horses found in Maremma, the birthplace of the Morellino di Scansano. Sure, the name’s interesting, but the wine’s even better. Fattoria Querciarossa was established in 2000 and it is now owned by Bruna Baroncini.
