Founded in 1988 in the hills of the region of Chieti, the Rimbaldi winery focuses on natural winemaking the highlights and uniqueness of the Montepulciano d’Abruzzo and Trebbiano d’Abruzzo. Currently, the Rimbaldi winery is owned by family Botter, and has over 2,200 olive trees and vineyards planted in 1990 and 1991 for a total of more than 26 hectares. In the official classification of Italian DOC wines, Montepulciano D'Abruzzo is in sixth place, behind Chianti, Asti, Oltrepò Pavese, Soave, and Valpolicella. Some say the brand has benefited from confusion with Nobile di Montepulciano, but a steady annual increase in production over the last 15 years is no fluke.
