Sonria Wines

Keith and Stacey Emerson grew up in San Diego attending the same alma maters since primary school. The long-time classmates graduated from high school and went their separate ways with Keith’s acceptance into U.C. Davis and Stacey’s acceptance into Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Years later following graduation from university they reacquainted, surprised by the realization that although each attended different colleges, they both pursued careers in the same industry. Keith and Stacey married in 2004, and early trips through the wine regions of California, Oregon and Europe, excited the couple about the possibilities of one day creating a wine of their own. After the birth of daughter Aubrey in 2009, they began work on Sonr’a. Named for Aubrey’s smile, it is derived from the Spanish verb Sonre’r which means, "to smile." Sonr’a is the reflection of a mutual love for great wine made from the heart. With 12 years in the wine industry, Keith began his winemaking career at Cakebread Cellars and after a year accepted the enologist position with Sonoma’s historical Gundlach Bundschu winery. In 2005, Keith joined Vineyard 29 as Director of Winemaking charged with managing the production of Vineyard 29’ss estate portfolio as well as Cru. As director, Keith oversees all wine programs for Vineyard 29’ss ultra-premium custom crush clientele, managing wine production for prestigious producers including Gemstone and Melka.
