"The DiStefano wines are a gift to my wife, Donna, and offered in tribute to her family - a family combining great personal and business integrity with a strong sense of tradition."
"It is in keeping with this family tradition that we dedicate our wines not only to those who enjoy them, but also to those who create them . . . the growers in the field, the cellar workers and the Winery's support staff."
Director of Winemaking
Mark Newton, winemaker and owner, a mechanical and nuclear engineer by training, began his wine making career with his Father at the Domain Chandon winery in the winter of 1983. Having the ability to control the acreage allows them to ensure quality of the harvest. The winery is located in the Woodinville Valley and it doesn’t own it's own vineyards, but relies on long term relationships and contracts with existing well known vineyards. Just to name a few; Pepper Bridge, Bacchus, Seven Hills, Kestrel…. Their target tonnage for red wine is 2.5 to 3 tons per acre. The grapes are hand sorted when necessary, and crushed and de-stemmed directly by gravity into open top fermenters.
