Pian delle Querci is a small family operated estate that stretches for 50 hectares of which 11 hectares are vineyards are nestled in the extreme north-western corner of the Montalcino DOCG appellation, side by side to other prestige estates such as Castiglion del Bosco, Casato Prime Donne and Abbadia Ardenga. In these northerly reaches Sangiovese Grosso (or Brunello) yields a fragrant, elegant, medium-alcohol style of Brunello, reminiscent of ripe red cherry fruit, violets and cinnamon stick. The Pinti family have been in the agricultural field for four generations and, thanks to this experience, they can be proud of their wine production. Their Brunello di Montalcino production starts towards the end of the nineteenth century. Angelo & Angelina Pinti strive to emphasize purity and classicism in their Rosso and Brunello, pursuing a minimally intrusive winemaking.
