Château Begadanet dates back to 1850, and was included in the first 1932 Cru Bourgeois classification. Currently the Figerou Family owns and manages the property. This particular Château is situated in the commune of Bégadan, just a short distance from the Gironde River, benefiting from sandy, gravely and clay-limestone soil. Cru Bourgeois is a classification earned by Médoc châteaux that produce wines of typicity and quality. To be classified as a Cru Bourgeois estate and to carry the “CB” symbol of quality, wines must pass an annual qualitative selection procedure. Château Bégadanet viticulture has been based on “sustainable viticulture” since 1998. This method aims to reduce the impact in particular of the phytosanitary protection on the environment by using natural methods.
