Inès Lauverjat founded her domaine in 2017 when she was only 23 years old. She comes from a family of winemakers in Sancerre, though as a teenager she didn’t think the farming life was for her. However, while at business school in London, Inès interned at wine import company, where her experience sparked a change of heart. She realized that starting her own domaine would allow her to control all aspects of her business, from vine to bottle to sales, marketing and strategy. With newfound excitement, she decided to further her viticulture studies in Beaune. In 2017, she was able to purchase a tiny 2.5 hectares vineyard, Les Rossignols, in her village, Menetou-Ratel. Much of the vineyard was in shambles, so with the help of her parents, Inès replanted most of the vines while also building her own cellar.
