Domaine les Hautes Cances was created in 1995 by Jean-Marie and Anne Marie Astart, who inherited the vineyard from her parents. As the older generations brought all their grapes to the cooperative winery in Cairanne, there weren’t any wine production activity before that. In July 2019, Pierre Amadieu winery bought Domaine les Hautes Cances in Cairanne. The vineyard consists of 4 hectares of vines in the Côtes du Rhône appellation and 12.5 hectares in the Cairanne appellation, with Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Cinsault as the main grape varieties. The plots in AOC Cairanne are spread over the 3 different terroirs of the appellation: the terraces of the Aygues, the Miocene slopes and the Garrigue. Thus, the wines produced express the diversity of the terroirs of this beautiful appellation, which is recognized as a Cru des Côtes du Rhône since 2016.
