It all began in 1935, when Lluis Ferré Pascual, son of a family of winegrowers from the Penedès, married Maria Catasús Domènech secretly. The marriage was not blessed by either of their families, especially that of Lluis Ferré Pascual, who was disinherited. Currently his descendants and specifically Lluís Ferré, continue the family dream. Today, Ferré i Catasús is a modern, family-owned winery located in La Granada, in the heart of the famous Penedès wine region in Catalonia, Spain. Founded on a romantic family legacy, the estate officially launched its contemporary winery operations in 1999. They are highly regarded for producing organic, expressive young wines and aromatic Cavas that break traditional winemaking rules with innovative blends and creative branding. Winery’s 41 hectares spread over different denominations of origin. The climate of the Penedès is the typical mild Mediterranean. The average exposure to sunlight is 2548 hours. Rainfall is distributed mainly between autumn and spring and can reach 550 litres/m2.
