With a rich expertise recognized since 1886, the company JM Monmousseau is specialized in development of sparkling wines made according to the MŽthode Traditionnelle process from the region Touraine. This family business mastered the art of blending and classic vinification of the main Loire Valley AOC’s. At the beginning of the century Justin Marcel discovered great similarities between the vineyards of Champagne and those of Touraine. In less than five years he implemented the MŽthode Traditionnelle process and start to sell his sparkling wines in France and abroad. When Justin-Marcel died in 1972, his son Jean and Armand, his grand-son succeeded him until 1994 when Monmousseau enters the European group Bernard Massard, Luxembourg leader in the market for traditional method wines. Today, the company Monmousseau is one of the main producers of sparkling wines of AOC Touraine, Vouvray, Cremant de Loire and Quality sparkling wines and also develops a range of still wines from Touraine region. Monmousseau is a small volume production; its wines come from a very specific selection of agreements made with wine growers.
