Teliani Vineyards Winery is currently one of the top producers of quality Georgian wine. Established in 1997 on the site of a 19th century winery in Teliani village, its first vintage was released in 2000. Teliani Valley has the longest tenure on the American market of any Georgian company. A large producer by Georgian standards producing over 2 million bottles a year. Their modern wine making facilities are located in east Georgia in the Kakheti Appellation. Very approachable wines for the novice Georgian wine drinker yet the wines maintain unique a Georgian character. All wines imported utilize indigenous Georgian varietals. Kakheti wine region is the heart of Georgian winemaking. Located in the eastern part of Georgia and is the biggest wine growing region accounting for almost 90% of total grape production with the dominance of Rkatsiteli for the whites and Saperavi for the reds.
