Torre Raone is an organic winery located in Loreto Aprutino, Abruzzo, Italy, known for producing elegant wines from native grape varieties. Torre Raone is situated on gentle hillsides at an elevation of 350 meters above sea level, enjoying a unique microclimate between the Adriatic Sea and the Gran Sasso National Park. The estate was purchased in 1997 by Luciano, a farmer from Tollo, and his friend, who committed to organic farming practices from the start. After they finalized the purchase in 1997, and began the transformation of farmland into vine, and by 2005, they brought their total hectares under vine to 29. In 2001, they purchased some large oak “botti” and vinified their harvest for themselves. Torre Raone winery is named after an ancient 11th-century Norman watchtower located on the property. The winery focuses on enhancing native grape varieties using certified organic methods.
