Karić Winery is boutique wine production located in central Serbia on the steep hill of Cer Mountain. Stevan Karić philosophy about his wine is sustainability in the vineyard as well as in the cellar. He is trying to be more natural and more responsible toward his wine and to bring the best possible wine experience to the consumers. All the labor he does in the cellar is manually, even pressing grapes is done with traditional hand press. In view of that he is producing only several thousand bottles. Vision of Karić winery for the whole Balkan is to embrace autochthonous grape varieties. As we see Balkan peninsula wine region as “the new, old wine world” with immense wine heritage and exuberant pallet of ancient grape varieties, yet mysterious and not so recognizable in the world of fine wines. The goal is to present what Balkan has to offer. Karić winery is one of the new wave wineries in Serbia with the innovative approach in the winemaking as well as in viticulture. Stevan Karić, the owner and winemaker, have a degree of applied sciences in viticulture and years of experience in the wine business in Serbia and region. He is the only enologist in the region who is dealing with the autochthonous grapes in terms that he makes a blend of them. On that premise he made brand and wine called ADRIA.
